Sir Edward Hulton, 1st Baronet

Sir Edward Hulton, 1st Baronet (3 March 1869 – 23 May 1925) was a British newspaper proprietor and thoroughbred racehorse owner. In 1921 he was awarded a baronetcy, of Downside in the parish of Leatherhead in Surrey, for public services during the First World War,〔 which became extinct on his death in 1925.〔
==Early life==
Hulton was born on 3 March 1869 in Hulme, Manchester.〔〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl )〕 He was the second son of Edward Hulton (1838–1904), a Manchester newspaper publisher, and his wife Mary (née Mosley).〔〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl )〕 He was raised as a Roman Catholic in the Manchester district of Whalley Range and was educated at the St Bede's Commercial College from 1878 to 1885.〔
